Action Pet Photography
Action photos are distinctive. There are millions of variations of activities, positions, angles, focal length (magnification of lens) and shutter speed to produce one-of-a-kind images.
Actions include running, jumping, swimming, catching, fetching, diving…. You’re only limited by your imagination.
Position is important- it provides impact, perspective and nuance. There are huge differences between photos taken while standing, sitting, laying down. Laying down results in the most impactful images because you are at or below eye level with your
dog.
Angles provide variety and can be much more appealing that the straight-on view of most dog photos.
Focal length options provide for close ups or long-range images that bring in the environment for context and everything in between.
Shutter speed adds drama. Skilled photographers use high shutter speeds to freeze action or slow it way down to make an intentional blur to denote speed.
Application of these techniques alone or in combination make for distinctive, one-of-a-kind, action-oriented pet photos. Would you rather have the average, dull photo of your dog sitting on the beach or a distinctive photo of your dog running and crashing through the water with spray flying everywhere?
